Blood Infernal by James Rollins and Rebecca Cantrell is the third and final book in The Order of the Sanguines series, and it is amazing. I absolutely loved it. The ending was wonderful. The journey was wonderful. The characters were wonderful. I wish I could say more about what I liked, but I don’t want to ruin it for anyone. But it definitely lived up to the first two books of the series: The Blood Gospel, and Innocent Blood. I decided not to do a review on them, as I read them before I started writing reviews, and I don’t think I would do them justice to write one now. However, if you’d like to read a review before getting them I found a couple I like here  and here . Either way, I enjoyed both books nearly as much as this one. So I really thought that I would last longer than three days in the blog challenge, and that I would put a post up about stopping the challenge sooner, but it is what it is. There are a few reasons that I decided to stop blogging everyday though. This also applies if you’re thinking of blogging regularly every day, and not just doing a 30 day blog challenge. The main reason I stopped the blog challenge was because I was starting to not care about the posts that went up. The first few posts I already had ready, but after the third day I was thinking more about what I can shove on my blog to fill a space for the day, rather than trying to create something that actually had meaning. What happened was on one of the days I wrote a really long blog post about something personal to me that I might not post, but it helped me sort through things to write it anyway. For day 3 of my blog challenge , a book review.  I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Evelina 2 is much like Evelina 1. If you have not read my review of Evelina 1, you can check it out here . It’s not the same in the sense that it’s repetitive, but in the sense that it’s written in the same style. There are the same flashes into the characters’ lives and the various different storylines. Basically we see bits of what is happening at a time, as the story is always jumping to other characters. But rather than being disjointed it works quite well, and the flow in the story is good. Also, as the flashes are short, it allows for each story to be continued while keeping the other stories in mind. What I mean is jumping around allows each story to be present and told simultaneously, rather than having long stretches between the storylines. In Evelina 1 we were left with Cairo and Eve going abroad together. I find Eve to be a complicated character...

So I’ve decided to do a 30 day blog challenge with no real planning or idea of what I’m going to post because I’m a crazy person (a.k.a a writer). Looking around my room I should probably do a 30 day cleaning challenge, but we’ll stick with the blog challenge for now. I’m doing this because I want to focus on my blog more, and get in the habit of actually doing things and not continually pushing them off. I don’t know exactly what I’ll be posting. Some days might come from other blog challenges which I’ll note, and some will just be whatever I feel like posting that day. It might get pretty weird. You might be scared away. But if you want to stick around for 30 days that’d be awesome. So it’s that time of year again where everyone makes New Year’s resolutions. This will be the year I get skinny. This will be the year I quit smoking. This will be the year I become a millionaire and get a multi-media book deal. I’ve never been one for New Year’s resolutions. While I believe it can be a great time to think about what you want in life, I feel like the hype of New Year’s resolutions will only last for a few weeks and then fall quietly into death. I could be wrong. There are probably lots of people who make resolutions and stick to them, but I don’t see the point of centering goals around one time of year. Or rather I do, but I think if you have a desire to change, you shouldn’t have to wait for a specific time to make that change. I’m all for goal setting, even if I haven’t had that much experience with it. But the thing with goals is that if you want them to work you really have to truly want them.
