Time

Hello everyone! So I find that society can often be obsessed with time. Be it the current time, the time left, or any varient involving time. So here is what I think in poem form: Time Time, time, time, time. It's always on our minds. Time is of the essence, time is money. But what does it mean? Why does it matter? We scheduled the very core of our existence down to the nanosecond. Plan when we eat, and sleep, we carry day planners, PDAs, a watch of some form, always wanting to know the current time, how long we've been, how long to the next thing? Does it consume us? Yes. Take up our time? Yes. Matter? No. Time is always there. We try to control it, but it is free. It does what it wants. Enjoy time, love time, time is your friend, not the enemy. I hope you all took the time to enjoy my poem, and I know if you're reading this you did. Good Job! Take a little time to share and comment, would ya? :)

Cures for Writer's Block

Writer's Block. We've all had it, I've had it these past few days. But whether you are writing an essay or a blog article do not fret my friend, because there are cures for the dreaded writer's block. Cure Number One: Make a List One of the easiest ways to cure writers block is to make a list of things that relate to the topic. For example, you are asked to write on dogs but haven't a clue where to start. Well, you can start by listing breeds, colours, sizes, attitudes, living conditions, personalities and so forth. You then look at your list and connect relating items. Or you can use this to generate a topic by simply listing things which interest you. Cure Number Two: Research Some of us love research, some hate it, but it can be an excellent soldier against writer's block. This works best when you are given a topic or different choices, or even if you have a few ideas clinking around, but are not sure where to go with them. Then all you have to do is go...

The Straight and Narrow

Hi everyone. So I've gotten tired of doing weird guides and wanted to do a poem instead. So here's what I came up with. I hope you enjoy it! :) Tell your friends where you found it! The Straight and Narrow White is all I see. Blue lines run run run, horizontal. Angry red line. Perfectly vertical. Not a spec of disorder. Words running down. Scrawling on the page, what is this poem? I dare say? Life is on the straight and narrow. You must do this, must do that. Like a chicken in the mouth of a wolf. Rebel, the chicken hears, and go your own way. The chicken bites the nose of the wolf, and flies away.

Things to do on a Sunny Summer Day

Hello Everybody! As we know it's getting close to summer, and we all know what it's like to be on summer vacation from school, work, or unemployment. It's a gorgeous day out, and what are we doing? Sitting at home, inside, doing absolutely nothing. It's time to go outside people, and no, not the virtual wilderness on your computer, but the real world. Here are some lovely suggestions to do on a sunny summer day. Go to the Beach There is nothing like splashing in the water on a hot summer day. The sun is shining, birds are singing, and you "accidentally" splashed that kid who wouldn't shut up (not advised). What a great way to spend a day. And if you're not near a beach, (or afraid of the diseases), you can jump in a pool. Lie in the Shade It can be very relaxing just being outside in nature. Lying on the cool grass in the shade of a tree can be a great lazy way to pass a summer afternoon, maybe even read a book while you're there. Go Saili...

My Dog's Various Animals

Image
Hey all! This post is slightly exaggerated. Most people have a dog. I myself have one named Roy, but I am especially lucky because my dog is five animals rolled into one! He is part squirrel, bat, pig, cat, and is of course a dog. How does this happen, you say? He looks like an ordinary dog in the picture? It seems that way my friends, but it is not. I assure you he is five animals in one. When he was but a wee little puppy, he cohabited with the squirrels in the backyard and was accepted as their kind. He resembles a bat as he leaps from the couch to the floor in a swoop, and flings himself off the back of a five foot chair. He goes pig on walks, snorting and sniffing the air while sloshing through mud puddles coating himself in it. In his leisure at home, he will lie on the floor and clean his face as a cat would and will climb trees and lie contentedly in the sun. He is of course also a dog and has various dog characteristics such as barking and marking territory. ...

University Survival Guide (can be adapted to other situations)

Everyone needs a good guide on how to get though that first year of University, or maybe a first year in high school, or even just a new job. Well, my friends, here is your Survival Guide!  Step # 1 Take a tour of the the university/college. Tours can give a lot of information and can be crucial for decision making. Some universities and colleges even have virtual tours on their websites so you don't necessarily have to travel to the university or college. Also, the website is a good place to get an idea of what the school has to offer. Step # 2 Join the conversation . Most colleges and universities have some form of a group or page on a social networking site. Quite often they have specific ones for new comers. Check out what others have to say and comment on their posts. Who knows? You could make friends before you even get there! Step # 3   Go to new student orientation . This is where you get acquainted with the college/university before making the transition. Th...
